Les dormeurs de la forêt invites us to enter the singular universe of the artist Sophie Zenon, all imbued with the marvelous and dreamlike. Nature vibrates there, pulsates, opening onto an invisible world

where plants and animals seem to hold the keys to a secret.

"Trees among the shadows / those of the crossings / those of the passages / in the oblivion of the edges / cloud of leaves / cloud of birds Trees under the evening wind / their roots are in peace / make an alliance with what remains / brambles hawthorns / caches of insects where to slip two fingers of childhood"

Unpublished poem inspired by the original photographic works of the artist, printed in pigment print on Bamboo paper 170 g Awagami by the Boba workshop

 

Edition limited to 31 copies including 18 leading copies consisting of the book and a photographic work opposite signed by the artist, numbered from 1 to 18 plus one HC and 12 copies of the book, numbered from 19 to 30. set signed on the colophon by the author and the artist

The leporello book includes two full-page original photographs facing the poem.

Leporello of 12 flaps plus flap, form. folded 20 x 29.7 cm. Text composed in Roman Didot printed in midnight blue ink on BFK Rives 250 g on the typographic presses of the Montquartiers art workshop. Cover made using Bernard Alligand's carborundum engraving technique. Presented in a midnight blue slipcase by Reliure du Center

The leading copy includes 2 leporellos mounted on a midnight blue velvet shirt, form. 21 X 30.5 cm + slipcase, i.e. the book + an 8-panel leporello of the photographic work, form. folded 20 x 29.7 cm
